Happy second day of Autumn! If you live in New England you will find that the weather has been absolutely perfect lately and PERFECT for apple picking. We went apple picking over the weekend and came home with an amazing amount of apples. Therefore, you guessed it, apple recipes on the blog! I’m so excited! This recipe will have your whole home smelling amazing. And the best part? It’s only 4 ingredients.. You can thank me later!
- 8 medium-large apples, peeled and cored
- 1/4 cup filtered water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 sea salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
Process:
1. Combine all ingredients minus honey in a slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours.
2. Turn off slow cooker and mash apple sauce with a potato masher. (You can use a blender, just be sure not to over-process this. The sauce can become too thin VERY fast.)
3. Add in honey and mix will. Let cool for 30 minutes and then eat or transfer to a Mason Jar.
Will store in the refrigerator for up to 7-10 days, or you can store in the freezer for up to 1 year.
