Hey guys! I am just coming out of the the busiest time of the year for me, my son’s birthday! I will be shaking things up a little bit later and doing a blog post on how I created everything for his party. It was a lot of fun for both the grown-ups and the kids.
I’m slowly drifing back into reality and my work and wanted to share my new favorite, go-to morning shake. It actually uses frozen green banana, and you may be thinking to yourself why she would ever do such a thing… Well… there’s a reason. While we don’t normally eat green bananas, green banana is a very good prebiotic and is a resistant starch. It is an indegistble carbohydrate that when reached by the colon, feed many strains of GOOD bacteria. I like to call them the precurser to probiotics. They work hand in hand. When beneficial bacteria feed on resistant starch, they produce short-chain fatty acids which helps to increase metabolism, decrease inflammation, and improve adrenal health.
So yeah.. That’s a LOT to think about, but don’t worry, I’ve done the research. Rest assured, you can drink this smoothie and not only will it be delicious, it will do wonders for your gut! In fact, there is ALSO evidence that supports drinking organic coffee in moderation supports gut health as well! Win-win 🙂
