Mom’s Watermelon Slushies

When I was a kid and had friends over in the summer, my mom would always make her famous watermelon slushies. I’ll never forget my friends saying “Selena, please make “that” slushie!!” As a kid, there’s nothing better than an ice cold slushie in the summertime. Mom’s recipe was made for years and I still continue to make it as an adult. I made this slushie this morning and my 1 year old LOVED it! This fun and delicious for all recipe will be sure to please even the pickiest eater. Enjoy this one! Mom, wherever you may be, thank you for letting me share this amazing drink!

(paleo, vegan, gluten free)
Serves 2

  • 2 cups freshly diced watermelon
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes 
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mint leaves, chopped

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until your desired consistency is achieved.
